renewable energy

I know this isn't strictly Seattle/Northwest but I was pretty taken with an interview I saw on public TV last night (KCTS Seattle) it was all about renewable energy with a guest named Amory Lovins it was kind of like "yeah, I'll watch this but I'm skeptical" but I loved what I heard! For example, did you know that 50% of the world's energy now comes from "local" energy sources? He also talked about how conservation can reduce our energy use dramatically. We can do this here!
